Aw shucks!!! No Blue/White Game this year. I have gone to the last 4 Blue/White Games and enjoyed each one.
I was planning to go again, this year.
Am I angry, "jumpin' up and down", upset....................no, I am disappointed.
I was angry when the NCAA disallowed what UK used to do with preseason scrimmages.............take them out to the rural
Kentucky folks........ so everybody could see "their Cats." That was the purpose for public scrimmages...........so
folks that couldn't make the trip to Lexington for games could at least get "a look" at their beloved Cats, plus the
scrimmages raised money. When that was ended by the NCAA, the fans got what we know today as the Blue/White Game in
Memorial Coliseum. Now that is gone, at least for this year.
Disappointed, but, not angry. There are two exhibition games, with Pikeville College and Seattle University, for
the fans to see the team in action before the regular season starts. Tickets are normally much easier to get than for
regular season games and folks that want to see "their Cats" still get the chance.
I can understand that Coach Gillispie and the staff have a full schedule during the month of October.
I can understand that Coach is installing his system and needs all the time available to accomplish same. I can understand
he is conditioning these kids like never before. I can understand that it is Coach's decision to not have the Blue/White
Game. I understand. Remember, I'm disappointed, not angry!!
It seems many in the UK message board communities do not understand. I have read many angry and many rude comments
about the decision to not have the Blue/White Game. Folks, this is a Coach's decision, not a fans decision! Coach
Gillispie was hired to bring UK "back to the promised land." Let's give him the support and the backing that has been
absent the last couple years. Let the Man run his Program....... as HE sees fit.
The bickering and complaining that has gone on for several years should just STOP. We wanted change, we demanded
change.........we got change.
I am disappointed, not angry!! I can wait until the Pikeville game or I can wait until the Seattle U. game
to see MY "beloved Cats" in action.
Until those games, I will root those #8 football Cats to victory over South Carolina..............I will enjoy what is
going on NOW!!!!
GO BIG BLUE!!!!
